Vellen sat in a corner bobbing his head to the loud music that played within the Underworld. He loved this place and this particular corner was his favorite spot. He glanced around the room looking at all the people in there, looking a little harder at the females that caught his eye. There were many people dancing and there were people doing exactly as Vellen were.
Vellen finished his drink and motioned for a waitress to bring him another. When he got his drink he sipped it and smiled. God, how he loved this place. So relaxing and cool. So many people to watch. So many people to talk to. Although, he hadn't really had much conversation tonight. In fact, the place seemed a little emptier than it usually was. He dismissed the thought and went on sipping his drink.
Vellen, again, finished his drink and propped his feet up on the table and let his head rest against the back of the seat. He closed his eyes and listened to all that went on around him. He could here everything that was in the music, and he could even hear some people's conversations. Then, Vellen heard footsetps coming towards him. Vellen opened his eyes and watched as a figure was approaching him.

Runt was clearly lost. He had venture in to far and the smells of and hormones and sweat of the dancers masked his own sent, he couldn’t find his way to the door until the crowd calmed down. He was headed to the corner of the room to find a seat but it seemed to be taken and the man in it seemed very comfortable. The amber liquid in front of the man looked very appealing; no doubt better tasting then the cedar ales that Runt was use to drinking. A pungent sent swept across Runts face and he realized the man in front of him clearly wasn’t human. “Beggin your pardon Sir” Runt said to the gentlemen and then took a seat at a near by table. “Perhaps I’ll like this place afterall” Runt said to himself, motioning to the waitress “I’ll have the same thing he’s having.“

Vellen looked at the person sitting across from him. "Sir? Oh c'mon now. I don't look that old do I? But my name's Vellen. What's your's. Oh and don't be afraid of me. I'm harmless most of the time. I don't mind sharing a table either. In fact you're welcome over here. It's been quite lonely tonight and I could use some company."
Vellen watched the other person order his drink and Vellen looked at the waitress, "Bring me another one too."
Vellen sat up in the chair and scooted over. He looked over at the shy person and said, "Well don't just sit there and stare at me. Come on over!"

Runt paused for a minute then got up to join the young gentlemen. “My apologue’s the shadows in the room deceive”. Runt said as he turns the chair across from Vellen backwards, he hated for chair to touch the space where his tail usually sits. “My name is Runt pardon my hesitance I’m new to this city. I was actually looking for some kind lodging and a place to clear my head and I actually walked in here by accident. However you seem to come here often. What is this place?"

"Heh, it's allright. People think I'm older than I am all the time. That's prolly why I can drink in here. And it's good to meet you Runt. And that would explain your hesitance." Vellen said with a smile taking another sip of his drink.
Vellen laughed at Runt a little, but not to be mean. "Haha, you came to the wrong place if you wanted some peace and quiet. But this is The Underworld. It's a danceclub if you hadn't noticed. I come in here quite alot. The people know me here. But if you're looking for a place to stay you can come with me to the apartments and crash at my place or you can sleep out on the street. But I don't reccomend doing that. All sorts of weird stuff is goin on in the streets. It's quite a dangerouse place here, and you better watch out for yourself. But you're in luck. You came to the right guy. I'll offer some of my protection for a small fee if you'd like. My offer to come and stay at my place is still up...but you better be able to keep up with me." Vellen said with a grin. He didn't know why, but there was something about this guy that he liked.

Runt was shock he never experienced such kindness in his life. In the old country it if one couldn't fend for himself he would be killed. he had never had a friend before but if ever he were to consider someone a friend it would be this Vellen. Runt smiled. "you are far to kind. I would be honored if you allowed me to stay with you" Runt felt as if he owed this Vellen something." I feel as thought I ow you something? All I have is my loyalty if ever you have need of me call and I will come." Runt was overjoyed " oh what the hell let's order another round on me!"

Vellen smiled, he liked this guy. He bought drinks. Drinking at the Underworld was one of Vellen's favorite activities.
Vellen laughed at Runt, "HA!!! You don't owe me a damn thing now. You just bought a round of drinks! In my book you're as good as gold! I was actually thinking about leaving here pretty soon. I need to get back to my place before it gets too dangerous out there." At this Vellen frowned and looked at Runt. "I don't know what it is about tonight, but something just isn't right. There isn't as many people here tonight, the hair on the back of my neck has been standing on end all night, and I've got this strange feeling, it's like I'm on edge." Vellen shivered a little at this and looked at Runt for comfort. "It'd be good to have some company on the way home, you know? Strength in numbers. Even though I'm fast it's still a little unerving out there."
Vellen quaffed his last drink in one big gulp. "Have you felt it? Well, I guess you wouldn't. You're not used to this city like I am. It's just.....something's not right." He looked at Runt with a slight worried look on his face. "Mind if we go now?" Vellen stood up and started towards the door of the club.

Runt worried about his new found friend but in truth Runt felt the same feeling of approaching doom if he wore his fur today it would be standing on end. "yeah we should leave, Im not to fond of crowds and if he one more dancer bumps me Im going to bite them" Runt joked to try to cheer his friend up but quite honestly he was hiding his town uncertainty. Vellen was right though whatever malice awaited them Runt knew if the stood together they would triumph. Just then Runt remembered his past dilemma. "maybe you should lead" Runt said modestly " I still cant find my way to the door."

Vellen smiled a little at Runt and said, "Ya I figured as much...there's just a certain way to get through crowds. Shove 'em. That's all you have to do. Usually people just stay out of your way then. Just make fists and box out with your elbows and push."
Vellen pushed his way through the crowd towards the door with Runt following closely behind. As they reached the doors of the club Vellen sighed and smiled a little at Runt. "Let's just hope you can keep up." And at that Vellen took off with speed the likes non had seen. A little upward spiral of dust was all that remained where Vellen once stood. He was already across the street waving at Runt. "Oi!!! Hurry it up!!! I can't wait for you all night!!! We gotta make this quick!!!"

Runt smirked, "at last a challenge" he thought as he dropped to all fours. Runt stretched briefly then bounded after his friend, coming with in inches of Vellen's feet. " Keeping ups not a problem when your on all four's" he gloated. "lets hope he doesn't make any sharp turns".
