the earthy smells were thick in Runts nostrils and the ground was moist beneath his feet. " it sure is good to be back in the woods!"Runt spoke aloud despite the fact that he was obviously alone. It felt good to be away from the urban scene, Wolves didn't belong in the city, to much time with humans could turn a wolf into a house dog and Runt was no house dog. The trees seemed to go on forever and the noise of Anroya could not be heard from here.
A Childish smile whipped across Runts face as he dropped down to all fours, his inability to make the change would not ruin this day, the night was young and Runt was full of energy "I'll see every inch of these woods before dawn!" Runt proclaimed as he shed his clothes and darted out into the night. " Who's says you need Fur to be a wolf!". Runt sloped on some mud from the banks of the nearby stream "better to be safe the sorry" he thought to himself, he wasn't expecting any company but Anroya was full of surprises and he didn't want to literally be caught with his pants down. Runt covered his nude flesh with mud and then started back towards the thickist part of the woods. Recess had Just began and he would spend as much time on the playground as possible.

Dawn beat heavy on Runts face as he lay on his back half of his body in the stream the rest scrawled out on the muddy banks. Runt had travel every inch of this wood smelled ever scent and had time to spare, triumphantly he rolled over and slid in to his slacks. "what the hell I might as well relax" Runt spoke aloud as he took a bite of the small woodland creature that fell victim to his hunger" life is like an old bachelor my friend some times he brings you flowers some time he shits on you front porch.Fight the good fight and tell the world to just Fuck off" Runt spoke to the carcass. "words to live by".

Two dogs slinked low, their ears flat to their bodies, their keen, glacier-blue eyes scanning the creature feasting on the animal carcass. Only steps behind them was a figure that seemed little more than a walking white tree, surrounded in mist, ancient, each step a labor, leaning heavily on an oak staff. His ears and nose were all that made him seem aware, and not merely drifting towards the ravenous feeding of the lycan youngster, for his ears darted to and fro, independent of each other and standing proudly on his great white mane, his nose danced at the tip of his snout. "Blood, a kill for the young one," he thought to himself, he smelled again, being still out sight and sound, the young lycan had covered himself in mud, it hid his scent from Colm's keen nose for quite some time, but his Eyes found the young one at long last. By his Eyes, Colm meant the Alaskan Malamute and the Siberian Husky that served as his eyes, for he had long lost his own sight. Hundreds of years ago, the memory of the event was as if it was a secondhand story he heard as a child, for it was that distant. Colm grasped his oak staff firmly, he made a single clicking noise with his tongue against his teeth and the two dogs peeled away, and returned to him. He moved out into the light, always in Lycan form, he was hunched over, but was still a sight to behold, his fur had grown long and seemed soft and almost elegant, he felt regal standing in the woods, and he stood now only yards away from a young Lycan that obviously learned how to take care of himself the hard way, perhaps another student, perhaps he would have to make the child leave the woods, in the end it didn't matter to Colm The White, for he was dying not even the damned can live forever. His hand, with long slender nails as claws again gripped his staff and he lifted it slowly smacking it against a tree, making a pleasant, hollow noise to make the young one aware of his presence. Always sniffing, ears darting, he said in a deep, fragile voice, "I am known as The White, you have wandered into my haven... or should I say our haven little one?" He said, showing a toothy grin, "I mean you no harm, I only ask of you tell me your name, and why and how your wandering paws have found these woods." Colm heard the sudden stopping of eating and crunching from the lycan, and then heard the leaves on the forest floor shift suddenly as the lycan undoubtedly turned to face what he thought was a threat. "Speak young one, you may Call me Colm."

When you're a wolf everything has a smell, anger smelled like pepper laced with poison, fear smelled like hunger, the strongest hunger one could have, wisdom smelled sweet yet overwhelming, and stupidity, you could even tasted stupidity taste like landing on your head from a great fall. Runts nostrils were felled with the wisdom of this old Dog and his tongue was heavy with his own stupidity, his coat was 2 arms lengths away from him leaving him defenseless. "unwise move pup." Runt thought to himself. This the sent of wisdom filled these woods so thickly that Runt was blind to Colms approach. Colms posture was very defined ,he sat in fully transformed as thought proud and fully at one with his inner self his true self. True, this was a terrifying sigh to behold ,at least from the human perspective, but to this old pup it was Pride and one of the most beautiful things that runt had seen in a long time. In fact if Runt had been a little younger he would have been tempted to approach Colm and lick his face. the fact in the matter was in his at his current position Colm could smack Runts head clear of his shoulder's and Runt could do nothing to stop him. He had to choose his words wisely. "Runt is my name and I am just a old pup with no taste for the city" at a loss for word Runt felt the need to make small talk. Runt raised the remains of the fox hes was eating and asked"I don't suppose your hunger, are you?"

Colm smiled at Runt calmly, with a gentleness to his face. He couldn't see the youngster, but he felt him, and smelled the fox. "I have long since overcome the need to eat flesh young one, especially the flesh of our cousins." Colm said, alluding to the fox's lineage. Colm sensed some fear in Runt, "Pup, be not afraid of me, be only afraid of yourself and those that chased you here, whether literally or with judging eyes." The White's voice became mystical as he spoke, as though they danced to Runt's ears, never straying, elegant and ethereal. He slowly, ever so slowly bent down to sit near the child, on the mossy floor of the forest, his long limbs bending unwillingly. His back arched with the burden of too many years. But still proud, and though his fur had long since lost it's life, the ghostly white sheen of it made him seem to glow.
"Enjoy your meal young one, and tell me, tell me of how you came to these woods." Colm smiled, letting his eyes twitch a little in expression under the lids that seemed sealed shut, his furry brow showing a gentleness of a kindly old man. The two dogs lay next to him, one at either side, in-tune to all that was happening, and resisting the urge to fight over the scraps of meat before them.

"these woods seemed to call to me, from...a dream." Words seemed to spill from Runts blood spattered lips. Words that seemed to speak themselves, words that Runt had not chosen to say." I came here as a means to escape....escape my Pain. the wood called to me with wide spread arms and told me to know these woods as i know myself." Runts mind was racing, doors upon doors were opening in the back of his head. The mere presence of this elder was pilling away layers of mental barriers in Runts head. "I dont know if I believed the dream or if I just need to get away for awhile but for some reason I felt like I needed to be here at this moment."
